The sun was shining beautifully on April 26th in rural Worcestershire for the Wedding of Sophie and Christopher.

Sophie grew up in the quaint Worcestershire town of Stourport-On-Severn where their marriage took place. St Wulstan’s Church is a modern day Church in the town centre, it is also Sophie’s family Church where she attended Mass regularly as a girl.

Stourport-On-Severn is a delightful town in the heart of Worcestershire with local shops and specialist craft ale public houses who also supply specialist Gin’s. The Wedding invitations were designed and created in Stourport by www.theweddingparcel.co.uk. Sophie and Christopher both knew what style they wanted for their stationery and they requested a light blue, lace theme. The invitations were very simple and elegant, which complimented the whole wedding perfectly. Sophie’s bridesmaids wore the exact same blue, they all looked amazing!

The Church was full of friends and family, some of whom had travelled a long way to celebrate the day. Sophie was walked down the aisle by her father Paul and followed by her sisters who were her bridesmaids. After a beautiful service and a few classic hymns Sophie and Christopher became husband and wife.

Then it was time to drive 30 minutes away through the glorious countryside to the breath-taking Whitbourne Hall reception venue. Whitbourne Hall is a stunning grade II listed neo-Palladian country house situated in the village of Whitbourne, this is just on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border. The hall was designed by E.W.Elmslie, who also designed the Great Malvern Railway Station. The house was built for the owners of the Hill, Evans and Co Vinegar Works of Worcester, which quite interestingly was, in the nineteenth century the largest vinegar producer in the world. Whitbourne Hall has outstanding columns, and the most jaw dropping blue glass ceiling, this is potentially one of the largest in Europe.

The hall is set in the most beautiful grounds with far reaching views of the countryside. We understand that the hall is owned by the residents who live in the apartments above and they open the hall only a few times each year for wedding celebrations. There are many places surrounding the venue that are perfect for photographs, it really is a treasure!

On arriving at the hall, guests were welcomed with a selection of beverages and tasty canapés. Photos of the bride and groom were taken in the grounds whilst guests enjoyed the sunshine and views. After a while it was time for the Wedding breakfast, an outside catering company supplied the food which was delightful. Of course the Wedding breakfast was then followed by the speeches. The Wedding cake was designed and baked by a close friend of Sophie’s, again Sophie was able to say exactly what she wanted and was very happy with the end result.

The cutting of the cake was witness by the day guests and some evening guests. Theme colour theme was carried beautifully throughout the entire Wedding, from the invitations, to the bridal party, the Wedding table plan and the Wedding cake. Evening celebrations came all too quickly as more guests started to arrive. The once quite, charming hall transformed rather quickly into a bustling party venue! Evening guests were welcomed with a full bar, exciting buffet and disco DJ.

The day went without a single hitch, Sophie and Christopher both said how wonderful the venues were at accommodating them, along with the outside catering team who looked after their every need. The celebrations continued well into the night where everyone had a fabulous time, guests were able to dance the night away inside with the DJ, take a seat in the huge drawing room on the comfy sofas or wonder outside in the glorious gardens. The weather definitely was the icing on the cake!
