So you have received an invitation to the most sought after wedding on the calendar this year. The excitement is palpable and your head is immediately visualising your new outfit, the lavish surroundings, the best food and fine wines being served into the early hours. The invitation has set the theme for the day. It arrived in an embossed envelope with gold piping. The quality of the paper and the hand written address beautifully scripted lures the recipient to reveal the content.
The hand written invitation is of luxury design. It is a formal invitation and requests a reply within 6 weeks.
A swift check of the diary confirms you are able to attend and so a reply must be sent with some thought. Generally a reply should echo the style and manner of the invitation. In the case of a formal invitation addressed to Mr & Mrs Richard Phillips the reply should begin “Mr & Mrs Richard Phillips would like to accept etc…. An invitation will often include further information as to perhaps dietary requirements, dress code, and the need for accommodation. It is therefore necessary to add a further note to the actual formal reply addressing any other questions raised in the invitation.
