Hello, Hayley at The Wedding Parcel here! So you’ve set the date, got the dress and chosen the wedding breakfast, now you’re looking to add the final touch of magic to your special day. One of my favourite jobs is creating bespoke stationery, this really is the icing on the cake. It’s nice to have beautiful stationery, floral/retro/vintage designs but everyone can have these. This is your day, choose to stand out and show people who you are as a couple. For example, if you like pub/beer trails, send me a list of your favourite pubs and I will hand draw them. If you like being in the veggie patch together, send me a list of your favourite vegetables and I will turn them into cartoons. If you enjoy hitting the slopes together, send me the mountain map and I will design your ski table plan. When you add these personal touches to your wedding table plans, guests get a find out new things about you both.
I remember creating a table plan for a couple who loved board games. They have a group of friends who would hold “come dine with me” evenings. After the food had been consumed the couples arranged themselves into their teams to play certain board games. My clients advised me of the games they liked to play and I did the rest. I just love my job! Another couple wanted to celebrate all the theatres they had played at together and asked if I could draw them all. All I needed to know was how they wanted the buildings to look – cartoony/original etc. I was given my brief and the rest is history.
There is nothing better than hearing “I have a slightly odd request for a table plan” I always find these requests exciting. You deserve nothing less on your wedding day then the absolute best. My designs aren’t just for one day, they are framed and cherished for years after. Cherished by not only the couple but their families. It’s a real pleasure when I receive an email 7 years after my clients’ big day when they have moved house, taken their table plan with them and had the wall painted specially to compliment it – I mean – WOW! Contact me today with your ideas, remember the more awkward the better :D
